Terms of Use
By using the LingoWord app ("the App") you agree to these terms. If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; if these terms conflict with it, Apple's agreement prevails for iOS users.
1. The service
LingoWord is a language learning app with lessons, reviews, leaderboards, tournaments and friends. The App is free to download and all learning content is free; an optional paid subscription is described in section 6. The App shows no ads. Features may change over time. We try to keep the App available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
2. Your account
The App creates an anonymous guest account on your device. You are responsible for your device. If you delete the App without keeping access to your account, progress may not be recoverable.
3. Acceptable use
- Player names are assigned automatically and cannot be changed, so other users never see names chosen by players.
- Do not cheat in leagues or tournaments, automate the App, or attack or overload our servers.
- We may suspend or delete accounts that break these rules.
4. Content and intellectual property
The App, its lessons and design belong to LingoWord and its licensors. You may use them for personal, non-commercial learning. Translations are provided for learning purposes and may contain mistakes.
5. Disclaimer and liability
The App is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
6. Optional subscription (LingoWord Gold)
- All learning content stays free. LingoWord Gold is an optional auto-renewing subscription sold through the Apple App Store. Its benefit is unlimited hearts: wrong answers do not stop a lesson. The App shows no ads, with or without Gold.
- The price and billing period are shown in the App before you buy and are charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- If a free trial is offered, it is shown in the App before you buy; any unused part of a trial ends when you buy a subscription.
- You can manage or cancel the subscription in your App Store account settings at any time. Cancelling stops future renewals; the current period stays active until it ends. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
- Deleting your LingoWord account or the App does not cancel the subscription; cancel it in your App Store account settings.
- Use "Restore purchases" in the App to get an active subscription back on a new device or after reinstalling.
7. Ending use
You can stop using the App at any time and delete your account in the App (how). If you have an active LingoWord Gold subscription, cancel it separately in your App Store account settings.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. We will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the App.
