Important Medical Disclaimer

HantaScan AI is NOT a medical device. The App does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, including hantavirus. It provides risk assessment only — not a medical opinion or clinical analysis.

The risk scores and findings generated by this App are intended as educational guidance based on publicly available CDC and WHO information. They should never replace professional inspection by a licensed pest control operator or medical evaluation by a qualified healthcare provider.

If you or anyone in your household develops fever, severe muscle aches, or shortness of breath after potential hantavirus exposure, call emergency services (911) immediately and seek hospital care without delay.

By using this App, you acknowledge that all health and safety decisions remain your sole responsibility.

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using HantaScan AI ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User") and Enes Genç ("Developer", "we", "us"). By using the App, you represent that you are at least 4 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

Description of Service

HantaScan AI is a mobile application that uses image analysis technology to assess environmental risk factors commonly associated with hantavirus contamination, including rodent droppings, gnaw marks, nesting materials, and other physical indicators.

The App provides:

  • AI-assisted risk scoring of images captured by your device camera or selected from your photo library
  • Educational information about hantavirus based on publicly available CDC and WHO guidelines
  • CDC-recommended decontamination guidance for different risk levels
  • Scan history tracking stored locally on your device

The App is intended for informational and educational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional environmental inspection, pest control services, or medical evaluation.

License to Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App on your personal iOS device, subject to these Terms.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute the App or its content
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Use the App for any commercial purpose without prior written consent
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels in the App
  • Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations

Subscriptions & In-App Purchases

HantaScan AI offers optional Premium subscription plans through the Apple App Store. The following terms apply to all in-app purchases:

  • Pricing: Subscription prices are displayed in the App before purchase and are confirmed at the time of purchase via the App Store
  • Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (weekly or yearly) unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • Billing: Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. For yearly plans, the full annual amount is charged at the start of each billing year
  • Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time via Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions on your iOS device. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
  • Refunds: Refund requests are handled exclusively by Apple under Apple's refund policy. We do not issue refunds directly. To request a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com
  • Free tier: The App includes 3 free scans without requiring a subscription or registration
  • Restore purchases: If you previously purchased a subscription, you can restore it using the "Restore Purchase" option in the App's paywall screen

Subscription management is handled exclusively through the Apple App Store. We do not have access to your payment details or the ability to issue refunds directly.

User Conduct

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not use the App:

  • To scan or assess property you do not own or do not have permission to inspect
  • In violation of any local, state, national, or international law
  • To transmit any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising or promotional material
  • To impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity
  • In any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the App or our systems

Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, content, logos, and educational materials, is the intellectual property of Enes Genç and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

The hantavirus information provided in the App is sourced from publicly available CDC and WHO materials. HantaScan AI is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or the World Health Organization (WHO).

Your scan images remain your property. We do not claim ownership over any images you capture or upload to the App.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or secure
  • The risk assessments generated by the App are accurate, complete, or reliable for any specific situation
  • The App will detect all instances of hantavirus contamination risk
  • The App meets or complies with any specific legal or regulatory standard for environmental or health inspection

Image analysis technology has inherent limitations. Environmental conditions, lighting, image quality, and the nature of potential contamination can all affect results. The App's assessments are probabilistic estimates, not definitive conclusions.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL ENES GENÇ, HIS AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OFFICERS, OR DIRECTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Personal injury or property damage resulting from use of or reliance on the App's risk assessments
  • Health consequences arising from action or inaction based on App output
  • Loss of data or profits resulting from use of the App

This limitation applies whether the claim is based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory, and whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Enes Genç and his affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:

  • Your use of the App or violation of these Terms
  • Your reliance on the App's risk assessments for health, safety, or property decisions
  • Any content you submit through or in connection with the App
  • Your violation of any third party's rights

Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation.

If you are an EU consumer, you may also have the right to submit a complaint to the consumer protection authority in your country of residence.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will provide notice through the App.

Your continued use of the App after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the App.
