Privacy Policy

In short: Keepline is local‑first — your highlights live on your device. We
only collect what's needed for the optional features you turn on (account sync, OCR, AI). We do
not sell your data and use no third‑party advertising or tracking.
Keepline ("Keepline", "we", "us") is an app that lets you scan, save, and revisit quotes from
books. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
Information we collect
- Account (optional). If you create an account for cloud sync, we store your
email address and a securely hashed password.
- Your content (optional sync). If you enable sync, your books and highlights
(text, page number, notes, tags) are stored on our server so they appear across your devices.
- Page scans for OCR. When you scan a page, the photo is sent to our server
only to extract the text, then deleted immediately after processing. We do not
keep your photos.
- Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by the App Store / Google Play and
managed via RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status (entitlement), not your payment
card details.
- AI feature (premium, optional). If you use "Ask your library", your question
and the text of your saved highlights are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate an
answer. This input is used only to provide the feature and is not used to train models.
- Diagnostics. Minimal server logs (such as IP address and timestamps) for
security and abuse prevention.
What we do not collect
- No advertising identifiers and no third‑party analytics or tracking SDKs.
- We never sell or rent your personal data.
How we use information
To provide and sync your library, process OCR, enable AI features, manage subscriptions, and
keep the service secure.
Third parties
- Apple App Store / Google Play / RevenueCat — purchases and subscription status.
- Open Library — public book metadata lookups (no personal data is sent).
- Anthropic — AI answers, for the premium "Ask your library" feature only.
Data retention & deletion
- Local data stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- If you have an account, you can request deletion of your account and synced data by emailing
enesgencad@gmail.com; we delete it within 30 days.
- Scanned photos are deleted immediately after text extraction.
- You can export your full library to Markdown or CSV at any time from the app — no lock‑in.
Security
Passwords are hashed, and all data in transit is encrypted over HTTPS.
Children
Keepline is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and
we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above.
