IMPORTANT: We do not store any of your data. DocScanner processes all documents, images, OCR text, signatures, and any other data you create or scan 100% on your device.
All processing happens locally on your device. We have no servers, no cloud storage, and no way to access your data.
Your documents never leave your device (except when you explicitly share or export them).
DocScanner ("App", "We", "Us") is committed to protecting your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our app, how we use it,
and how we share it.
1. App Features
DocScanner is a document scanning application that offers the following features:
- Document Scanning: General documents, ID cards, passports, and QR code scanning
- OCR (Optical Character Recognition): Extract text from scanned documents (processed on your device)
- E-Signature: Draw and add signatures to documents with drag-and-drop placement
- Multi-page Support: Add, edit, and manage multiple pages
- Document Merging: Combine multiple documents into single files
- Perspective Cropping: Advanced 4-corner cropping for skewed documents
- Image Enhancement: Automatic enhancement, brightness and contrast adjustments
- Folder Organization: Organize documents in folders
- Export: Export in PDF, JPG, DOCX, PPTX, and TXT formats (Premium feature)
- Document Conversion: Convert between PDF, JPG, DOCX, and PPTX formats
- Multi-page PDF Support: Convert multi-page PDFs to images and other formats
- Premium Subscription: Access to premium features including unlimited scanning and export options (managed through RevenueCat)
2. Information We Collect
2.1. Non-Personal Information
The app may collect the following non-personal information from your device:
- Device information (device model, operating system version)
- App usage statistics
- Error reports and performance data
2.2. Personal Information
The app may collect personal information in the following situations:
- Subscription Information: When you purchase a Premium subscription, payment processing is handled by RevenueCat and
App Store/Google Play. We do not have access to your payment information.
- User Content: All scanned documents, ID cards, passports, QR codes,
OCR-extracted text, and signatures are stored exclusively on your device and
are never sent to our servers (we don't have any servers).
2.3. Camera and Gallery Access
The app requires camera and photo gallery access for document scanning functions:
- Camera: Used to scan documents, ID cards, passports, and QR codes
- Photo Gallery: Used to select documents from existing photos
- Save to Gallery: Used to save scanned documents to your gallery
Important: All camera and gallery operations occur only on your device.
No images or data are transmitted over the internet.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide and improve app functionality
- To detect and fix errors
- To improve user experience
- To fulfill our legal obligations
4. Information Sharing
We do not share your personal information with third parties. However, information may be shared in the following situations:
- Payment Processing: Subscription purchases are processed by RevenueCat, Apple, and Google.
- Legal Requirements: Information may be shared when legally required.
5. Data Security and Offline Processing
DocScanner processes all document operations on your device. All processing occurs locally:
- Document Scanning: All scanning operations are performed on your device
- OCR Processing: Text recognition is processed on your device and does not require an internet connection
- Image Processing: All operations such as perspective cropping, rotation, and enhancement are performed on your device
- Data Storage: All scanned documents, ID cards, passports, QR codes,
OCR text, and signatures are stored exclusively on your device
- PDF Creation: PDF files are created on your device
- Document Conversion: All format conversions (PDF↔JPG, PDF→DOCX, PDF→PPTX, etc.) happen on your device
- Digital Signatures: Signatures are drawn and stored locally on your device
- Document Merging: Multiple documents are merged on your device
- Multi-page Processing: Multi-page PDFs are processed page-by-page on your device
No document data is transmitted over the internet or uploaded to our servers.
We do not have servers to store your data. Your documents, images, and extracted text remain completely local on your device.
The app does not require an internet connection for document processing (except for Premium subscription purchase transactions and version checking).
5.1. Document Conversion Services
Document conversion (PDF to JPG, PDF to DOCX, PDF to PPTX, etc.) is performed entirely on your device:
- PDF to JPG: Uses native iOS PDFKit framework - all processing happens on your device
- Image to DOCX/PPTX: Uses JavaScript libraries (docx, pptxgenjs) - all processing happens on your device
- PDF to DOCX/PPTX: First converts PDF to JPG (on-device), then creates DOCX/PPTX (on-device)
- Multi-page Support: All pages of multi-page PDFs are processed individually on your device
No document data is transmitted to external servers during conversion. All conversion operations are performed locally on your device.
5.2. Version Check Endpoint
We check a remote endpoint for app version information to notify you of updates.
Only version numbers are checked; no personal data is transmitted.
5.3. Data Backup
The app does not automatically backup your data. All data is stored only on your device.
If you change your device or delete the app, your data may be lost. We recommend exporting
important documents (PDF, JPG) to create backups.
6. Sensitive Information
DocScanner allows you to scan sensitive documents such as ID cards and passports.
We recommend being careful when scanning such documents:
- Scanned ID card and passport images are stored only on your device
- These images are never transmitted over the internet
- You are responsible for the security of your device
- Remember to delete them from your device when you stop using the app
7. Children's Privacy
Our app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If a parent or
guardian becomes aware that their child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
8. Premium Subscription and RevenueCat
Premium subscription purchases are processed through the RevenueCat service:
- Your payment information is processed by RevenueCat, Apple App Store, or Google Play Store
- We do not have access to your payment information (credit card, bank details, etc.)
- Your subscription status is managed by RevenueCat
- Your subscription information (plan type, expiration date) is used only for subscription management
8.1. Premium Features
Premium Features Include:
- Unlimited Document Scanning: Scan unlimited documents, ID cards, and passports
- Export Features: Export documents in PDF, JPG, DOCX, PPTX, and TXT formats
- Share Features: Share, save, print, and use advanced sharing options for exported documents
Free Version: Basic features including document scanning, OCR, digital signatures,
and document management are available to all users. Export and sharing features (PDF, JPG, DOCX, PPTX, TXT)
are exclusive to Premium subscribers.
9. Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. When significant changes are made,
we will send a notification within the app. You can stay up to date by checking the "Last Updated"
date on this page.
